How Guttershell Protects Your Home
The unique S-shape bend of GutterShell directs rainwater into the gutter. Most of the water is directed into the gutter by the first edge, or nose, and the second nose collects and diverts any remaining water that would otherwise flow off the roof.
Solid objects including leaves, pine needles, twigs and other debris do not have the surface tension of water and cannot follow the S shape. This prevents them from entering the gutter and they are pushed off the roof edge by the force of the water entering the gutter.
The openings in the GutterShell are large enough to let even the heaviest flow of water through, but too small to allow debris to enter. This design also keeps wind-blown leaves out of your gutters while also preventing access by birds, squirrels or other animals.
During snowstorms, Guttershell's unique design prevents buildup of ice dams and icicles by using the warm air inside your home's attic or soffits to melt snow and ice along the roofline. Openings in one of the Guttershell noses allow the heat to circulate to the outside of the house to prevent ice from forming in and around the gutters. As snow slides off the roof, the S-bend shape allows the snow to slide over the gutter, not into it.
