Among these substances are nicotine, carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, tar, ammonia, formaldehyde, acrolein, acetone, polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (benzo (a) pyrene), hydroxyquinones, nitrogen oxides, and heavy metals (nickel, cadmium, chromium, and arsenic) [20]
However, its worth getting tested if you have these symptoms and have been somewhere or eaten something that puts you at higher risk for infection
