Homegrown Tourism: Managing the Shift from International to Domestic Visitors As global travel continues to recover from the pandemic, states are observing a lasting shift in tourism patterns: fewer international visitors and a sharp rise in domestic travel. Studies forecast an overall decline of 8.2 percent in international arrivals to the United States, but growth from several countries in South America and the Far East.
